  • Crossland Construction Holiday Dinner
  • 1,200 attendees
  • Arvest Convention Center

A weekend celebration where Crossland employees come together from six different states, and ten offices to celebrate with one another by honoring tradition, recognizing family support and reflecting on the year.

Audience Insight: Groups will patronize restaurants with bars that stay open later on Thursday and Friday before the main event on Saturday evening.

  • 918 Open Wrestling Tournament
  • 700 attendees
  • Broken Arrow Event Center

A college wrestling tournament featuring wrestlers from the NCAA Division III, NAIA and NJCAA levels. Wrestling takes place all day Saturday, Dec. 13 with weigh-ins at 8:00 a.m. and matches beginning at 10 a.m.

 
  • Dec. 29-Jan. 3
  • Hyper Racing Tulsa Shootout
  • 2,500 attendees
  • Expo Square

The largest micro sprint racing event in the world boasts entrants from across the country, as well as the Netherlands, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. The multi-day event encompasses six different racing classes, including Junior Sprint for kids ages 6-12.

Audience Insight: The event brings drivers and fans from all over the country. Racing begins Dec. 29 at Expo Square with the finals taking place Jan. 3. Drivers often have significant downtime at the track and will set up areas to lounge and relax at their trailers, often taking advantage of either food delivery or easy-to-find to-go meals.

  • Chili Bowl Nationals
  • 20,000 attendees
  • Expo Square

Racing’s winter answer to the Super Bowl, the Chili Bowl is the premiere Sprint car racing event in the world. It brings in drivers, teams and fans from all over the world with races beginning Monday night at Expo Square and culminating with the A-Main Final on Saturday night.

Audience Insight: Audience is about 80% men and 20% women. Racing starts around 5:00 p.m. each night, so groups will be out in the community for breakfast and lunch. They are looking for things to do during the day that are inside because of the January weather.

  • World of Wrestling Tulsa Nationals
  • 3,000 attendees
  • Expo Square

Boys and girls wrestlers in classes from 6-and-under to 15-and-under will compete over the four-day event. Weigh-ins begin Thursday, Jan. 16, with wrestling beginning the next day and ending with Finals on Sunday, Jan. 18.

Audience Insight: Attendees will seek restaurants that can accommodate entire teams, 15-22 kids, along with coaches and parents. Foods like pizza and burgers are popular, along with buffets.

  • OkMEA Annual Winter In-Service Conference
  • 1,500 attendees
  • Arvest Convention Center

A premiere event for music educators in the state, this conference offers professional development, networking opportunities and the chance to celebrate student achievement through a wide variety of performances.

Audience Insight: Attendees are expected to visit downtown coffee shops, convenience stores, cafes and quick-service restaurants for quick breaks between rehearsals and performances. Most main meals are provided through the organization.

  • American Cowboy Rodeo Association Finals 49
  • 4,000 attendees
  • Expo Square

This rodeo, presented by the American Cowboys Rodeo Association, boasts the top 15 cowboys and cowgirls competing in traditional rodeo events such as bareback bronc, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, bull riding and barrel racing.

 
  • Jan. 29-Feb. 1
  • USA Taekwondo Team Trials
  • 2,000 attendees
  • Arvest Convention Center

Male and female Black Belt World Class Qualified athletes from Cadet through Senior will compete for a spot on Team USA in two disciplines: Kyorugi and Poomsae. Weigh-ins begin Jan. 29.
