Hello Tourism Partners,
I don’t know about you, but Thanksgiving is one of my favorite times of the year—I hope yours is filled with family, fun, friends, food and football!

Congratulations are in order for FC Tulsa! The Scissortails capped a historic season with a Western Conference championship, and it was amazing watching Tulsa host the USL Finals—televised on CBS! It was so much fun being a part of their journey. Seeing ONEOK Field filled to the brim was such a thrill. Was it a coincidence that they had a sellout crowd of 9,180 fans for the semifinals? I don’t think so! And a record-setting crowd of 9,507 for the Final! Tulsa continues to shine as a premiere sports destination as this month also saw not one but two top-tier gymnastics events announce they’ll be coming to town: The SEC Gymnastics championships will be held at the BOK Center on March 21, and next June, the USA Gymnastics Championships will return to BOK Center and Arvest Convention Center.

The Outsiders is the gift that just keeps on giving. I was able to attend some of the show’s run in Dallas, where the foyer of the Music Hall at Fair Park was turned into a pop-up diner featuring all things Tulsa. Such a great time seeing the amazing show once again with Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts and Culture executive director Meg Gould, Oklahoma Lt. Governor Matt Pinnell, and more members of our great Tulsa Regional Chamber team. Stay gold!

Speaking of the creative arts, congratulations to the team at OKPOP for reaching their fundraising goal. That space will be amazing in Tulsa’s Arts District!
The holidays are a time to give, and now it’s easier than ever at Gathering Place. Until Dec. 8, find The Giving Machine at the park, a one-of-a-kind vending machine that allows you to purchase much-needed items for global and local charities. More information here!

All of us here at Tulsa Regional Tourism are thankful and grateful for YOU, our invaluable tourism partners. Without you, your partnership and your collaboration, Tulsa wouldn’t be the special place it is, and we couldn’t tell the incredible stories we do. So thank you, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

- “Road to Recovery,” an independent film produced by Tulsa-based Rebellium Films, stars Freddie Prinze, Jr. (“I Know What You Did Last Summer”) and Ryan Keira Armstrong (“The Lowdown”) and tells the story of a father and his terminally ill daughter on a cross-country road trip.
